Tajuk Standard - Sue's Giveaway

When Sue of MyBotang started announcing about her SALE, I was already excited hahaha .. yala fabrics from Japan, must be good (rubbing my two hands)

Her style of doing the sale was group by group .. and they are very limited

and so like a small cake to be shared by many ... only those who are fast and lucky manage to grab a piece (at least) .... So everytime I went online I made sure I checked Sues blog for any new items on Sale .. and Alhamdulillah I managed to grab a few ..

The way I did it was like once I looked at the entry I would automatically scroll down and looked at the comments to see if there had been some, and if there were more comments than the items featured .. i m doomed .. mati la semua orang dah sambar ... huh


So this morning when I visited the blog I was so excited to see such beautiful fabrics !! Terketaq-ketag ni scroll tengok komen .. alamak ada tiga dah komen ... I read the comments .. ehh si Malaysia siap cakap "I love you" .. apa hal sayang menyayang ???? Tak book pun.... baca second comment .. ehh apa nih ...


hahahaha .. rupanya the fabrics are meant for giveaway ..... not for SALE lah .... punya gopoh kalut tak baca betoi2 .... hahahahaha .. rasa poyo siut ..!

Ok I have to tell you guys again, jangan dengar cakap Ayu bab profession saya tu .. sebab Ayu dalam keadaan bitter dan sangat emosional dgn ibu mertua Kassim Selamat ...


hmmm .. kalau ada rombongan Craftzone nak pi Hatyai pun boleh jadi nihh .. hahaha. Bagi tau saja kita buat rombongan mcm "Rombongan Che Kiah" tu ... pegang tangan ramai-ramai. Cuma kalau ada yang teringin nak pi tengok Tiger Show kena naik bas lain la .....


And please janganla harap Hatyaai tu mcm Syurga kain sangat pun ... kedai kain kat sana pun lebih kurang mcm kedai kat Jitra saja ... serius .. cumanya kain depa yg sama standard dgn kain cotton murah kita kat sini, design dia lain dan cantik .. kualiti kain hampeh lebih kurang juga. Jangan la pula sentap muncung mulut kalau cari kain Amy Butler atau Robert Kauffman tak jumpa ..


From my house to Border will take about 20 minutes time .. and from Border to Hatyaai will take about 45 minutes.


Kena pi recce lagi nih cari kedai kain nak masuk senarai .. hmm (esssshh nak bawa dak tak tau Ayu nihhh)

Merujuk kepada perkara di atas serta komen-komen Puan-puan semua di dalam entry "Memang Terasa Nak Bakar Kain Kadang" bertarikh hari ini juga.

Saya juga mohon merujuk kepada gambar-gambar di dalam entry yang tersebut di atas yang mana telah membuat salah seorang pembaca memberi komen sampai dua (2) kali kerana agak kurang sabar hendak tahu.

Puan-Puan Yang Budiman,

Saya bukanlah tokey kedai kain tersebut. Saya juga bukan pemborong mahupun pengedar bertauliah kain-kain tersebut. Saya juga adalah pembeli yang lalu di kedai kain tersebut dan kemudiannya memilih dan kemudiannya mengeluarkan wang untuk membayar harga kain tersebut.

Jika Puan amati entry saya yang lepas sudah pasti puan akan perasan yang saya ada menyebut harga kain adalah untuk RM7 satu ela. Itu adalah klue yang pertama untuk Puan meneka di mana kain-kain itu dibeli. Kalaulah saya membeli di Etsy pastilah bukan RM7, selalunya USD7.

Puan,

Saya tinggal di Jitra, satu pekan sederhana yang mall paling besar hanya ada empat (4) panggungwayang. Setiap satu adalah dikhususkan untuk satu wayang melayu satu wayang inggeris dan satu wayang tamil. Saya agak kesal kerana Sex and The City tidak ditayangkan di sini.

Ok berbalik pada cerita kain. Saya tinggal di Jitra. Rumah saya hanya lebih kurang 20 minit dari negara Jiran ...

Halimatun Saadiah is the name of my great grandmother. I think the name is very Malay and of course Putri Adriana wont fit someone like her who wears kain batik and baju Kedah .. hohoho

I was seriously considering using the real kain batik on her, but I was afraid if it wont turn out great and ruin the kain batik instead. I was eyeing one nice kain batik, but the small girl inside of me was still afraid my mother would get angry and scold me finding her kain batik torn apart ... hahahaha.


P/s: I know how to wear one ok ...!!!!

Ayu Buat Gila - Dalam Hati Ada Taman Katanya

I think something must have hit Ayu ..... was it the drink I made during the reunion? .. It cant be the cooking, because I only cooked the rice and not all the other dishes ... She looked ok that day. She must have gone and watched Lagenda Budak Setan then.. I think ..... (hahahahahahahaha sure murka gila dia kalau tuduh dia pi tengok cerita nih...).

Why am I saying shes crazy... ?

I was there when she first opened her shop at Prai and yes there were rows and rows of fabrics, thanks to her Sister Kak Dida who always make sure to get only the best. Its no surprise that almost all the fabrics they are selling are 100% American cotton and of course there are also some cotton linen (which I dearly love) and also some corduroy (which I am still waiting for her to upload for the SALE). Kak Dida la ni dok teriak (menangis) sambil pegang almari kain tu semua sebab sedih nak berpisah dengan kain-kain kesayangan dia. Harap beliau tabah dengan dugaan SALE ini.

Girly Stuff

Amni is an 8 year old girl who appreciates beautiful things. She is now in Year Two and has been a very good student. The only thing is that Amni is always second in class, and she has not been able to beat Wong his classmate, just yet, to be at the top of the class. I promise her that I would make her a bag if she is able to beat Wong in the next exam.

But her mom my cousin has requested me to make a couple of cushion cover for her and her daughter. Amni is into all these "hearts" or "love" things as she call it, and I hope she likes this one I made for her:-

Reunion And Frens And New Cushion Covers

I have been very busy actually these few days. There was a reunion the other day with my fellow primary school gang ... hahaha ya ya it sounds crazy, not many have a reunion with their old frens from primary school, at the most people would want to meet their secondary school frens or uni frens .. but not those from primary school ... but you know what, my frens and I had a really great fun and crazy time together that day! The only problem was that everybody talked at the same time and we didnt know who's talking to who !! We just hit back as if there was no 15, errr no no, 20 .. ehh no 25 .. errrr..... 27 years of gap.

I just have to tell you ladies about the reunion because when they came to my house, some had kidnapped my cushion covers !!!!!!!!!! all of them wanted the cushions to be the door gift ( mati sawan la aku ...) tsk.

Semua muka mengharap nakkan kusyen

tapi jurugambar selaku tuan rumah menunjukkan muka bengis dan garang kepada meraka

Ok so I m now like back to square one and have to refurbish with a new collection.

I know Kak Dee was asking why only cushion cover .... well I suppose its because I love using the bold plain fabrics and create and have fun designing it ! Im still excited about it and perhaps I would one day may be in one or two weeks time get bored and move on to making bags and yes quilting too ....

A few weeks back I made this and I notice the design looks almost the same as those of Mayas'.





I know its a bit plain and but I just love the fabric, its linen cotton with a bit more of the cotton side. Alhamdulilah the girls didnt notice how smooth and huggable this one is. Hahaha.



And, I also finished the rocket cushion cover last night and am quite satisfied with the outcome. Hah I discovered that the missing part from the last green cover was the "stars" ... the small small stars youre supposed to see when you look up in the sky .....

I hope Hakimi would love it

And just in case some of you are wondering hows my craft room after a few days

I' m not a disappointment to Kak Diah after all .....

Alas , we ll just wait another month

hahaha

Mahukan Bilik Sekemas Kak Dee ??? Tepuk Almari Tanya Kain

Kalau yang memang pengemas,

Ok Kak Dee fulfilled her wish to step into my house. And we spent a few hours in my sewing room. What an eyesore for her seeing my room ( and that was already duly vacuumed right after she called shes on the way hahaha). And so ... Kak Diah gave me a crash course on how to fold all the fabrics and place them in a neat row on the shelves. Actually I have to be frank, folding the clothes is not really my thing, I d prefer ironing them anytime instead of folding. But for the sake of my craft room, I thought why not ....

Langkah Pertama: Pakai Kain Batik Dan Cari Kadbod . Gunting mengikut saiz yang bersesuaian




Letak Kadbod di atas kain seperti di atas. Saiz kadbod adalah mengikut saiz yang kamu rasa sesuai untuk muat di atas rak kain kamu




Lipat dan lipat dan lipat lagi kasi kemas.

Seluk tangan ke dalam kain dan tarik kadbod keluar, untuk digunakan untuk kain seterusnya.



Boleh susun suda di atas rak dengan gaya kemasan menawan

Bila Sifu agak kurang yakin akan kemas seperti ini selalu. Amik gambar untuk pastikan nanti kemasan akan berkekalan.

Homework yang diberi oleh sifu untuk dihabiskan.

Anak murid yang baik memang akan habiskan kerja rumah. Tempayan itu juga adalah hasil cadangan Kak Dee ... cantik kan ....

Okehhh ... I m back after some busy days running here n there making ends meet. It so happened that after my meeting with Kak Dee and after Kak Dee posted my pic in her blog, my long lost friend Nisa suddenly contacted me again. She s one of Kak Dee's gang in the Cross Stitch camp (Kak Dee apparently has many camps .. hehe). Nisa or Yoon was one of my gang at the university, we had gone through a lot together and its been quite a few years since we last saw each other. She has been following my blog and although she had the instinct that Crafty Anique might be her Kak Ann, but since she felt that its quite impossible for her Kak Ann to be sewing, she just brushed off the thought .. until that day when she saw my pic in Kak Dee's blog .... hmmmmm

Anyways ... on another note, my good good friend Shaliza had requested me to make one cushion cover for her son Hakimi. I had made two before for her daughters and now the son also has asked for one too and this boy really knows what he wants ...a rocket picture with his name together with some wordings to it

Actually to be frank I m not really satisfied with the outcome .. I feel something is missing which I hope the boy wont notice ...... mati la kalau Hakimi cerewet ....

And oh ya ... you see the first photo in this entry, I found the fabric at a "morning market" in Jitra selling at RM4 a meter. The seller even discouraged me from buying it because he said "gambar tak elok" ... (the pictures not really appropriate according to him) but i think they are cute and so I bought the whole 7 meters lot ....

I can make bags, cushion covers and even aprons with this 100% middle weight cotton fabric
